Ludwig Emil Grimm (1790-1863)
Yes, he was younger brother of THE brothers Grimm (who paid for his artistic education, by the way)! Jakob and Wilhelm were supporting him during his studies and he evolved in respected artist. He became engraver, draughtsman (drafter) and painter.
Let's see the illustration from Hansel and Gretel:
Ludwig Grimm studied at Kassel and Munich, where he also married, got professorship and spent most of his life. His speciality were portraits of artists of his time and of course portraits of his friends and relatives.
He was illustrator of first edition of Household and Children Fairy Tales collected by his more famous brothers. As you can see most his style was pretty realistic and same stands for most of his contemporaries
